We strive to create truly therapeutic experiences.We are locally owned, privately owned, and woman owned, with our owner bringing more than 35 years of experience in the beauty industry, with a longstanding presence in the local salon community through past and present salon ownership since 1999.Each treatment room has it's own personality and decor such as the Beach Retreat, Forest Escape, Bloom Room, Rain Room and The Cosmos in our Overland Park locations and The Cosmos in our Olathe location.We use science-driven and botanically based professional products, carefully and thoughtfully chosen for their effectiveness and integrity.  We do not use cheap, bulk products that compromise results.Our halos use constant fresh water at all times. We do not use recycled water with heaters and pumps that are common in most head spas. Our sinks are ceramic so they cannot harbor stains and bacteria. Most head spa units have acrylic (plastic) sinks.We made custom memory foam headrests.Each Spa bed is heated and adjustable for your comfort. Every head spa session includes a very effective, yet gentle chelating (deeply clarifying) hair treatment with a steam cap that purges unwanted minerals, product build-up, and even medication build-up from the hair. The result is hair that feels lighter, brighter, softer, dries faster, and responds better. After your session, your scalp feels light, clean, and balanced.This thoughtful blend of customizable sessions, effective specialized treatments, and attention to detail makes KC Head Spa like no other.

Head Spa treatments are ideal for anyone looking to improve scalp health, hair health, address issues like dryness, oiliness, itchiness, dandruff, thinning hair, or simply looking for self-care or a deeply relaxing spa experience. We do have an age limit of 12 years old and older.

Treatments range from 60 minutes to 90 minutes or more with customizations.

Long and/or thick and/or tangly hair may require additional time and product to properly care for your hair and achieve the best results. Any one of these factors, alone or in combination, may require additional resources to ensure manageability during your service.We offer Tier 1 and Tier 2 pricing, determined by the amount of additional time and product needed for manageability of your hair during your Head Spa.If you're unsure whether your hair may require additional time or product, we recommend adding the Long, Thick & Tangly fee when booking your Head Spa session. This will automatically show Tier Two pricing, but the fee may be adjusted at check-out to Tier One pricing or completely removed based on the actual additional time and resources required during your service.

Hair Extensions and Sew-ins Head Spa services at KC Head Spa cannot be performed while any type of extensions or sew-ins are being worn. The bonds on extensions could be affected by the steam and other treatments we use.Braids or Locs YOU MUST CALL THE SPA IF YOU HAVE BRAIDS, LOCS, DREADS, OR THICK NATURAL HAIR SO THAT WE MAY PLACE YOU WITH THE APPROPRIATE TECHNICIAN.The full benefits of head spa sessions are best experienced when scheduled between move-ups or when these styles are not being worn. If you elect to still receive services while braids, locs, or dreads are in place, results may be limited. KC Head Spa is not responsible for incomplete cleansing, product buildup that cannot be fully removed, disruption to the style, frizzing, loosening, or changes to the appearance or longevity of these styles. There are no styling services available. We highly recommend getting head spa treatments in between extension move-ups and other similar hairstyles as stated.

Yes! We have 5 treatment rooms in our Overland Park location so we can accommodate groups up to 5 at a time, each in their own themed room. If you are booking with a friend(s) or for a special event please let us know! Our Olathe location has one treatment room with one spabed, therefore one appointment at a time.

KC Head Spa Overland Park has 5 distinct treatment rooms, each with one spabed. We can accommodate parties up to 5, and each person will get to be in their own sanctuary with undivided care and attention from the spa technician with minimal distraction so that you may fully benefit from your session!KC Head Spa Olathe has one room with one spabed.

After 28 weeks of pregnancy, lying flat on your back for extended periods can put pressure on the vena cava vein, possibly reducing blood flow to the uterus, which may temporarily affect your baby’s oxygen levels and heart rate. You will need written clearance from your provider approving you for services at KC Head Spa if you are 28 or more weeks pregnant. If you do not have this release to us by the time of your appointment, we cannot perform your service, and will be considered a no-show/late cancellation, resulting in our cancellation fee being charged. This policy is for the safety of you and your baby, and there are no exceptions.

We have a pre-appointment form for you to complete as soon as book an appointment. Please be sure to complete the allergy section so we can do our best to accommodate your needs. If you have three or more allergens, or your allergies are unique or broad, please call ahead of time so we may determine how best to accommodate you. 913-586-6040. We encourage regular appointments for optimal scalp health. Head Spa sessions and treatments are very beneficial for unclogging hair follicles and balancing the scalp, leading to healthier hair. And if you are wondering if you can be hairless and still reap the benefits of a head spa session.. yes! you absolutely can!

We recommend that you wait a minimum of 1 week after any color services, mainly darker or brighter color, due to the gentle but effective clarification process we use for our treatments. However, please note you may opt out of the chelation treatment if you wish. It would be ideal to visit before your hair appointment, as clarified and nourished hair ensures better color absorption and more vibrant, long-lasting results, and excellent for prepping hair for Keratin treatments or perming.

For optimal scalp health, we recommend treatment every 4, 6 or 8 weeks. At miminum, we suggest quarterly for buildup. However, if you experience issues like dryness, oiliness, or stress, more frequent treatments may be beneficial until balance is restored. Ultimately, we encourage you to come as often as you are able. You are worthy of care.

Once you enter the private head spa room, video recording will not be permitted unless arranged in advance under special circumstances. You are here to unwind and be uninterrupted so please put your phone away, on silent and enjoy your session.
